Bend, Oregon

It’s rare that Jake and I immediately feel connected to a place. We felt it in Joseph, Oregon. And we felt it again here. Bend had everything that we could ever want in a town. It isn’t too big or small with approximately 75,000 residents. It has 4 seasons, is close to outdoor activities and has the coolest downtown. We were hooked. We also happened to come during Oktoberfest, which both added and detracted from Read More …

Day 1 in Chicago

Day one in Chicago started bright and early when our Spirit Airline flight from Portland, Oregon landed before 5 in the morning. With the time difference our bodies felt like it was 3 AM, and without any sleep we got our day started. We could spend weeks exploring beautiful Utah but alas, we only had 3 short days. Aside from driving we Read More …

I had a picture in my head of wild fires and deserts. After a little research though I was excited to find that there are a lot of Native American ruins located in Arizona. Most are only accessible by hiking, Read More …

Exploring Flagstaff Arizona

After spending two nights in Las Vegas, and then a brief tour of Hoover Dam we continued on to beautiful Flagstaff, Arizona. This was our base for 5 days/4 nights while we explored the town and the surrounding area. Home to Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff is a moderate sized college town ( approx 66,000 residents) in northern Arizona and is less than 1.5 hours from the Grand Canyon. Exploring Flagstaff, Arizona was easily one of the best parts of our Read More …
